As an organization development firm, our purpose is to be a catalyst for growth. We help organizations and people grow and become profitable by building relationships that unleash individual potential and organizational possibilities. Because no two organizations possess the same strengths, challenges, personalities, and experience, we design programs to meet the unique needs of the clients. Horizons training and organization development programs help organizations manage growth, identify root causes of organizational problems, and facilitate solution development and organizational change. Our engaging and results-driven facilitators provide dynamic, concrete learning experiences designed to address the unique and evolving needs of our clients.

To achieve this, Horizons uses experiential learning components within the program because people remember 11% of what they read, 20% of what they hear, and 90% of what they do (Ann Algier). This inclusion of experiential learning components within the Horizons’ programs transforms the lecture format into a hands-on learning experience. Concepts become felt, manipulated, evaluated, and linked specifically to the workplace, leaving a long-term impact on the learner.

Organizational Development Programs

Horizons Organization Development (OD) services and programs help organizations manage growth, identify and resolve root causes of organizational challenges, and facilitate organizational change. Horizons’ staff conducts an assessment and works closely with clients to develop OD programs that meet their unique needs.

Leadership programs enable participants to assess, develop, and enhance their personal leadership knowledge and skills (including communication, creativity, empowerment, and risk-taking).

Team Development programs address issues that enhance team performance (communication, diversity, leadership).

Challenge Course Programs

Horizons’ Challenge Courses enable participants to see themselves as competent and self-reliant. The ropes and adventure events challenge participants to stretch beyond their comfort zones or perceived capabilities into new skill areas. Not only do participants learn to survive challenges and thrive within a supportive team environment, but they also learn that the smiles, laughs, hugs, and handshakes that result from shared challenges make life more meaningful.

Team-Building Programs

Team-Building Exercises foster greater team cohesion and commitment by enabling groups to communicate more effectively, develop trust and support, create group norms, and understand the value of each team member. When teams accomplish tasks they would not ordinarily imagine themselves capable of doing, they become empowered to push their boundaries.

During these Team-Building activities, participants must work as a team. No task can be accomplished alone. As a result, the group must work as a cohesive team to achieve their objectives, and teams who understand how to do this are far more effective.

Challenge By Choice

The challenge course program is designed with obstacles that must be overcome both individually and as a group. From this has grown the philosophy, Challenge by Choice.

Challenge by Choice does not mean that some participants can choose to sit by while their team is addressing the obstacle. It means that every person participates 100% based on the degree of challenge they choose. A team may encourage a person to keep going, take one more step, climb higher; however, each person is free to choose their own level of challenge. Group members are asked to respect the degree of challenge that each person chooses throughout the course and are asked to commit to the following:
