Our well-trained, experienced staff combined with our extensive variety of activities and programs make the Outdoor Learning Center the ideal choice for groups that want to custom-build their very own outdoor adventure. From in-camp activities, such as our High Ropes courses and Low Ropes Initiatives, to excursions to the nearby rivers, mountains and caves of the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, our program options combine challenge, safety and fun to make your group outing memorable. We provide the equipment and expertise – you decide the tone, from tame to exhilarating, or anything in between!

Horseback Riding
For riders 11 years old and older, we offer relaxing, scenic trail rides through the beautiful woodlands of Camp Horizons on our gentle, well-trained horses. For younger or first-time riders, 8 years and older, we also offer ring rides to introduce you to the basics of horseback riding. Visit HorizonsHorseback.com
High Ropes Courses
Push yourself to new levels of accomplishment and self-confidence and grow as a team while your experience the exhiliration of our high ropes courses and giant swing.
Climbing Wall
Experience the thrill of climbing and challenge yourself with six different climbs on our 50-foot climbing wall.

Mountain Biking
Mountain Biking
Tour the trails of Camp Horizons and of the Massanutten Mountain on bike, and experience nature in a whole new way. From moderate rides to rugged inclines, mountain biking at Camp Horizons is the perfect way to get some exercise and enjoy nature.
Rock Climbing
Challenge your body, mind and spirit with some of the best climbs in Virginia & West Virginia, as you push to new levels of accomplishment. Visit our newly acquired site and experience the Via Ferrata at Nelson Rocks Preserve in West Virginia.
Caving
Explore the mysterious and beautiful features of local caves, and build trust and confidence in our teammates as you venture underground.

Hiking and Backpacking
Take to the trails of Camp Horizons and the nearby George Washington National Forest for hikes by pristine mountain streams and to mountaintops with breath-taking views.
Tubing 
Turn a balmy afternoon into total relaxation as you float down a gentle stretch of the scenic Shenandoah River.

 
Canoeing and Kayaking
Learn the basics of canoe and kayak paddling and safety on our Lake Philippa, or travel to the nearby Shenandoah River for a one- to three-day journey guaranteed to generate group cohesion and teamwork.
